Gemäß Gewerbegesetz kann eine natürliche Person mit Wohnsitz und eine juristische Person mit Sitz außerhalb des Gebietes der Slowakei unter denselben Bedingungen und im gleichen Umfang ein Gewerbe ausüben wie eine slowakische Person, sofern das Gewerbegesetz oder andere Gesetze nichts Abweichendes bestimmen.

Als allgemeine Voraussetzungen für die Gewerbeausübung gelten:
a) Volljährigkeit (18 Jahre)
b) Handlungsfähigkeit
c) Unbescholtenheit – wird durch einen Strafregisterauszug nachgewiesen
